Get five people together in your team, ski the La Ronge trails throughout several weeks, and collect points along the way. The team that collects the most points will win a prize!

How it Works
 

The La Ronge Nordic Ski Club Team Ski Challenge is an opportunity to explore the beautiful ski trails that La Ronge has to offer, over the course of several weeks from January 11 to February 28, 2025.

1. Form a team and give it a name:

   • Each team must have five members 

   • One of the team members must be 50+ years old

   • One of the team members must be a beginner (skied less than 10 kms in the last 10 years) or a youth (16 years or younger)

2. Fill out our form at the top of this page to register your team and team members.​

3. Ski and collect points:

   • Your team gets one point for every kilometre skied on the La Ronge ski trails. It can be any trail you like and you can do it how many times you like. 

   • Beginner/youth skiers get twice the points per kilometre.

   • Earn bonus points for skiing the locations listed on the table below. Note: Each skier can claim bonus points only once for each special location. 

   • Contestants will get an extra 10 pts if they register in the 2025 Don Allen Saskaloppet. For details on registrations go to https://www.saskaloppet.ca/.​

4. Record your points:​

   • Use the link that will appear at the top of this page to record weekly the distances skied by your team. ​​

Prizes

​

Every skier of every team will get a printed certificate of participation but only the 3 top teams that get the most points will get the following prizes:

​

• 1st place: Every skier of the team will get a $100 dollar gift card to Lake Country Co-Op. 

• 2nd place: Every skier of the team will get a $50 dollar gift card to Lake Country Co-Op.

• 3rd place: Every skier of the team will get a $30 dollar gift card to Lake Country Co-Op.

Also, as an extra price, a ticket to the amazing Saskaloppet Banquet will be raffled on the final day of the event.

Note: To be able to win the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes, the team members must be members of the La Ronge Nordic Ski Club nd the distances skied should be uploaded to our website before 12:pm on the 28th of February.. To purchase your membership go here.

• Free for everyone - the club encourages everyone to get out and get active!

• If you want to be able to win the prizes, you must be a ski club member!

​Rules and Advice​

1. Skiers “ski at their own risk”.  

2. There are no supported checkpoints.  Bring what you need to stay hydrated, warm and safe!
